The Savoy Cinema started life in 1929 as a 3000 seater single screen cinema and now has 6 screens with over 2000 seats including the 780 seater Screen Number 1.
In the following 75 years the cinema has witnessed the evolution of film. Advancements in new technologies over the years have seen transition from black and white movies to the introduction of Technicolor and the continued enhancement in picture and sound quality with the digital era now waiting in the wings.
Recently it underwent a major €2 million refurbishment that saw many of its original late twenties features brought back into its interior.
